Lucchini RS, a main European manufacturer of railway wheelsets, is focused on the design, production and assembly of all types of wheel, tyre, axle and wheelset to satisfy a wide range of applications for high speed passenger vehicles, locos, freight cars and urban transport systems. The main production site (from steelmaking to final product) is in Lovere-Italy; other production sites are in the UK, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Austria and the JV facility in China (Zibo-Lucchini) mainly active in the high speed railway sector. The manufacturing process in the Lovere plant includes steel production from scrap metal for the production of ingots, axle forging line, wheel rolling mill, heat treatments machining line, assembling.
