On Thursday September 9th Edurne Suarez from project coordinator AIMEN and Quan Deng from project partner BIBA participated in the special session ‘ Refurbishment and remanufacturing of machinery in CyberPhysical Production Systems’ of the ETFA conference 2021. ETFA 2021 is the 26th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) focusing on the latest developments and new technologies in the field of industrial and factory automation. During their participation they had the chance to present two papers prepared between AIMEN and BIBA within the LEVEL-UP project. The 1st paper was on the subject of ‘Circularity Protocols for Extending the Useful Lifetime of Obsolete Large Industrial Equipment and Assets.’ and was presented by Edurne Suarez. The 2nd paper was on the topic of ‘Development of a Digital Thread for Extending the Useful Life of Capital Items in Manufacturing Companies - an Example Applied for the Refurbishment Protocol’ and was presented by Quan Deng. Furthermore, during the conference both LEVEL-UP representatives had the chance to discuss with stakeholders and special session organizers on the session topics.
